The Star of David, or "Shield of David", is made of two overlaying triangles to form a six-pointed star. Displayed on the flag of the State of Israel, on synagogues, and Jewish tombstones. In the Middle Ages, the Star of David appeared with a much greater frequency among Jews but did not assume any religious significance. There are thoughts of the symbolic meaning of the Star of David, such as the six points standing for God's absolute rule over the universe in all six directions, north, south, east, west, up, and down. It was also believed the triangles represented humanity's dual nature, good and evil, and the star could protect against evil spirits. Our finials are the embodiment of your modern aesthetic. Each finial set is as unique as the person who crafted them.
